FAQs
Wait—are you a private chef or a caterer?
Yes. I wear both hats (and a very cute apron).
As a private chef, I create multi-course meals or weekly dishes right in your kitchen.
As a caterer, I feed your crew at events, drop-off style or full-service, depending on your vibe.
How far in advance should I book you?
The sooner, the better—two to four weeks is ideal, depending on the size of your event. If you’re feeling spontaneous and I’m free? I love a little culinary improv. Rush orders will incur a 20% fee.
Can you work around allergies or dietary restrictions?
100%. Food should make you feel good. I have lots of experience making meals that are gluten-free, dairy-free, and full of joy. Just let me know what you need; however, please be aware that the Lemonyay! kitchen is not strictly gluten-free or allergen-free.
Do you make custom menus?
Yes, darling. Always. This isn’t a fast-food drive-thru—it’s your table, your taste, your moment. Let’s dream it up together.
How much does it cost?
Prices vary based on guest count, menu, and service style. Once I get the details, I’ll send you a clear, customized quote. No hidden fees—just delicious transparency.
Will you bring help?
For intimate dinners, it’s usually just me (and maybe a playlist). For larger events, I have an incredible crew I can call on to serve, pour, and dazzle.
Do you bring your own equipment and servingware?
I bring what I need to cook magic. If you need plates, forks, or something fancy, I can arrange that too—either disposable or rental (which, if needed, will be included in the invoice total).
Can you cook in my kitchen?
Yes please! I need a clean, functioning kitchen with standard appliances. I’ll treat it with love—and leave it cleaner than I found it.
How long does a private dinner last?
Usually around 2–3 hours. Think: your favorite restaurant… but you don’t have to leave, dress up, or lift a finger.
Can we do a tasting before a big event?
For larger parties or weddings, yes! Tastings are available for an extra fee, which can be applied to your final invoice when you book.
Do you deliver? Can I pick up?
Yes and yes. Delivery fees start at $2 per mile round-trip from the Lemonyay! kitchen (6340 W Industrial Dr in Mequon, Wisconsin).
What’s the difference between a grazing table as an appetizer and a grazing table as a meal?
A grazing table as an appetizer is a little moment—think small bites to kick things off before the main event. It pairs well with cocktails and mingling, but it is not intended as a meal.
A meal-style grazing table is the whole dang show. Think abundance with enough variety and volume to serve as a full meal: proteins, veggies, dips, breads, and bites that keep people coming back for more. It’s hearty, stunning, and totally satisfying—perfect for events where you want something beautiful, social, and low-fuss.
What type of cuisine do you specialize in?
Fresh American fare with undercurrents of Mediterranean and Italian American-style cuisine. Lemonyay! ingredients are always fresh and purchased from local growers as often as possible.
